Laurel Cottage is run by us, Adam & Yvonne Fairhead. This is the short version of how we look after your details.
What we collect
When you get in touch or book, we have your name, email address, your dates, how many guests and dogs are coming, and anything else you choose to tell us. If you pay, Stripe handles your card details. We never see your full card number.
Why
To reply to your enquiry, run your booking and stay, take payment, refund any deposit, and keep the records we're required to keep for tax. We don't use your details for marketing and we never sell or share them, apart from with the services below.
Who else handles it
- Stripe processes card payments for us (the account is in Yvonne's name). See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Google (Gmail and Google Calendar) is where our emails and booking calendar live.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for 6 years, because that's what the tax rules require, and then delete them. If an enquiry doesn't turn into a booking and you'd like it deleted, just ask.
This website
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. The enquiry form doesn't send anything itself. It just opens your own email app with your message filled in.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you. Email [email protected]. If you're not happy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
